Prepare yourselves for the most amazing summer drink – the Watermelon Slushie!
I can’t even believe how delicious and hydrating this is. Perfect for a summer day but the dock, or even just in your backyard enjoying the sunshine.
This recipe is one of the easiest to make. Simply blend all the ingredients in a blender (preferrable a high-powered one), and ta-da!
You can add some maple syrup to taste after blending if you feel like it needs more sweetness, but I think that it was perfectly sweet enough as-is.
Choose your own adventure! You can even add a bit of booze for an adult-version. I added 1 oz of white rum or vodka.
I also had the cutest assistant on set with me today photographing…
Frozen Watermelon Slushie
Print RecipeIngredients
- 4 cups watermelon cubes, frozen
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/4 cup fresh mint
- zest of 1 lime (optional)
- juice of 1 lime
- 3/4 cup sparkling water (soda water)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
- 2 oz white rum or vodka (optional)
- To serve:
- sprakling water
- lime wedges
- sprigs of mint
Instructions
Combine all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until slushy and smooth. Add more water as necessary if too thick. I had to push down the mixture a few times to help it blend. Adjust flavour to taste with more lime juice or maple syrup.
Pour into glasses (or scoop with a spoon like I did!). Top with more fizzy water and stir. Serve with lime and mint.
